Tourism Activities from the Cal Jafra Group

We can offer many different tourist activities that can be undertaken directly from your place of accomodation. We would like to invite you to discover the Penedès region and enjoy all that it has to offer; culture, scenery and, most importantly, wine tourism.

Discover the Penedès region

Pau Casals has long been considered one of the greatest musicians of the 20th century and, at the same time, a great humanist and defender of freedom, justice and peace. His international career started in 1899 in Paris and it took him all over the world. He lived in exile for the last 34 years of his life, from where he deeply missed his beloved Catalunya and his home on the beach in Sant Salvador, El Vendrell.

It is because of this that we have organised many different activities in the capital of Baix Penedès that focus on the world of music and its story.

You can visit Penedès and enjoy the wine tourism, country paths and culture that make it such a unique place. At Enoturisme Penedès, an organisation that is responsible for promoting the tourism of the zone, you’ll find all kinds of different activities related to the world of wine.

Visit wineries, enjoy the gastronomy, wines and cavas of the region. Take part in the region’s most popular tradional celebrations and discover the territory with all of its cultural and vineyard routes. These are among the many things that Enoturisme Penedès can offer.

Discover Penedès with Gust a Terra; a land of castles and vineyards, rich in history, culture and tradition. We can offer different routes to suit all tastes, such as cultural routes, gastronomic experiences or simply something relaxing.

You will be able to taste the best wines from the region, paired with our most typical dishes, or you could walk or cycle through the beautiful vineyards and locations of the Penedès region. You can also visit the castles that were, until the 12th century, protecting us. We will take you to get to know our beautiful towns and villages and we will tell you our history.

In addition to the activities we offer in Penedès, you will also be able to easily reach other tourist destinations in Catalunya. For example, the Garraf Natural Park, the Coast of Tarragona, Roman Tarragona and Port Aventura are all less that an hour away from all of the accomodation that we offer at the Cal Jafra Group.

Tourism activities outside of Penedès

The Port Aventura Water Park is one of the most visited leisure spots on the Costa Daurada. Located only 40 minutes from our rural accomodation, it’s one of the most fun ways of spending the day with the family.

Enjoy all the attractions on offer for the whole family and then easily get back to the accomodation in less than half an hour.

By following the AP7 motorway south, you will get to, in only 45 minutes, the city of Tarragona. Declared a UNESCO site in 2000, Tarragona and its surroundings are full of sites that are testimony to the Roman Empire in Catalunya.

The sites include monuments from the 3rd century B.C., up to the 4th century A.D. The most famous of these being the Amphitheatre, the Circus and the Roman Aquaduct.

The Garraf Natural Park is located between the counties of Baix Llobregat, Alt Penedès and Garraf. The area is part of the south-west region of the Catalan Serralada litoral. Its boundaries are the lower valley of the Llobregat river, the Mediterranean Sea and the Penedès depression.

It is a place which is very close to the Cal Jafra Group’s houses and is a perfect place to go walking with guides, on horse-back or even enjoy workshops to get to know the flora and fauna of this exceptional natural region.

No matter where you go in Barcelona, you are sure to be close to a neighbourhood or district where you can find something to see. Be it a Modernist jewel of contemporary architecture, markets to awaken the senses, Roman and medieval treasures in the Old Town or parks where you can relax.

And the best thing about all this is that you have all of this only 50 minutes from any of the accomodation that we offer.

The name Costa Daurada comes from the golden colour that lights up its beaches when the sun shines. Only 10 minutes from our rural accomodations, you can enjoy many kilometres of beaches; many of which have long been awarded the title of a Blue Flag Beach due to the cleanliness of its water and sand.

The Cister Route is so-called due to the three Cistertian monasteries which make it up: Santes Creus, Poblet and Vallbona de les Monges. These monumental buildings are only half an hour from the accomodation we can offer.

In addition to the three monasteries, you can also discover a region rich in culture, history, nature, wines and cavas, celebrations, traditions and art.
